What Motivates you?

What things interest you? Are you an outdoor person? Do you enjoy interaction with others or do you find yourself more productive on your own.   Finding ways to combine your interests and preferences into your fitness plan will improve the odds of achieving a successful outcome.

The goal isn’t to enjoy every second of every workout, but overall, you should like the types of workouts you chose to do.  Running on a treadmill might not be as enjoyable to you as a long walk around your neighborhood.  Training with friends and family may be more motivational for you than training alone.  Find out what works for you!

What Frustrates you?

Frustration around lack of progress or adapting to a healthier diet are very common. Here are some tips to avoid these frustrations.

  1. Start with a small achievable goal – Set an easy goal first, achieve it and then progress to a bigger goal.
  2. Be Consistent – Spread your exercise sessions over the week instead of cramming into 2 or 3 days.
  3. Stay Positive – Pick activities that are interesting and exciting to you.
  4. Envision your future state – Instead of focusing on numbers, track how you feel. Are you getting more sleep, feeling more energetic, feeling less stressed?
